LEG Engages CSOs and Media on Proposed Amendments to Mining Compensation and Resettlement Regulations (L.I. 2175)

Livelihood and Environment Ghana (LEG) with support from the STAR Ghana Foundation under the Action for Voice, Influence and Development (AVID 2) project, held its second sensitization meeting with civil society organisations and the media in Accra.

The meeting formed part of our ongoing advocacy to push for amendments to the Minerals and Mining (Compensation and Resettlement) Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2175), with the aim of strengthening protections for mining-affected communities. Participants included representatives from Public Agenda, Women in Law & Development in Africa (WILDAF), TWN Africa, ISODEC, Strategic Youth Network for Development (SYND), Women Integrated Development Association (WIDA), Ghana News Agency (GNA), and other media and civil society groups.

LEG expresses its appreciation to the STAR Ghana Foundation for its continued support in strengthening citizen voice and inclusive development in Ghana.
